(Chicago, January 2013)-After his wife Melissa passed away just three and a half months after they were married, Jeremy Camp wasn't sure he wanted anything to do with music. He then heard the words, "Pick up your guitar. I have something for you to write." The words were very clear. Camp obeyed and reluctantly started playing his guitar. Ten minutes later, he had written "I Still Believe," which became a number one hit song. In 2011 he went on to pen and self-publish his first book, I Still Believe. Camp has teamed up with Tyndale House Publishers and has completely revised the book and expanded its content. I Still Believe will release next month, February 2013, and is an inspiring and encouraging read with complete insight into Camp, his life, his ministry and his music.
The new content explores Camp's family life growing up; meeting, marrying and losing Melissa to cancer; the painful process of moving on and the heart-wrenching spiritual journey that followed-a journey that reignited his faith, inspired some of his most beloved songs and paved the way for a second chance at love with his second wife, Adrienne.
"This book is different and deeper," Camp explains. "It shows the Lord's calling on my life and how that came about in more detail."
It's encouraging to Camp, and to others as well, to see how God has worked in him and directed him throughout his entire life-through the lowest times and best times. God was always present and always faithful.
Camp also hopes to inspire listeners with his new album, Reckless, to be released on February 12, 2013. He hopes listeners will be encouraged to surrender everything to God, even what they never thought they could give up. The first single on the album, "Reckless," tugs at the listener with its call-to-action lyrics: "I'll lay my life down and give it up/I'll give it up…I will not be afraid to surrender my way to follow who you are/I want to be reckless" - something Camp tries to live out in his life every day and hopes others will be moved to do as well.
